Welcome to Mystic Yacht Charter
Specialising in private yacht charter experience around Mystic, Stonington, Noank,Watch Hill, Mason's Island and Fishers Island. For groups of six or less.
Mystic Yacht Charter is a collaboration between the Mystic Seaport and the Antique Yacht Collection . The goal of this collaborative effort is to provide private yacht charters to small groups wishing to see the Mystic River and Fisher Island Sound.
Three beautiful and unique boats are used to provide interesting and different experiences, with prices to suit all budgets.

The 1hr 45min cruise on Mamie is $350, the Half Day Mystic River Cruise aboard Mamie costs $600, and can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests.

Mamie cruises from Mystic Seaport down river to Noank where the Mystic river become the Fishers' Island Sound. There are so many beautiful boats and amazing scenery to check out while you cruise the river. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy your cruise.

This historically significant boat was designed by William Hand and motored from Connecticut to Nova Scotia in 1915. Quite a story.

The boat cruises from Mystic Seaport down river to Noank before returning to Mystic Seaport. Along the way you will see plenty of historic and beautiful sights, including private islands, bustling downtown Mystic, the Mystic Seaport, historic draw bridges, docks, boats, restaurants and stunning homes.

Designed by noted naval architect William Hand and built in 1915 by L. West of Port Chester, NY, Gramp is an excellent example of the fast and seaworthy “Hand v-bottom” launches and runabouts that were plentiful in the decade before World War I.
She is the only surviving example, (to our knowledge), of this revolutionary design and has been kept largely original.
The boat’s construction is carvel cedar batten-seam planking, fastened with bronze screws to white oak sawn frames, backbone, keel, and floor timbers. Her cedar decking has been covered with epoxy and Dynel.
She has a transom-hung rudder with drum steering. Her mahogany cockpit coaming, trim, and transom are finished with bright varnish.
Gramp is powered by a 62 h.p. Westerbeke Model W-70 6-cylinder gas engine connected to a Scripps 1:1 transmission with mechanical engine controls. She has a 11”X 9” 3-blade bronze propeller on a 1 1/8” bronze shaft. She can cruise as 10-12 knots with a top speed of 20 knots. She has a 30-gallon stainless steel fuel tank.
Gramp comes to the Museum from Coecle’s Harbor Boat Yard, Shelter Island, NY, where she has been maintained for many years. She will be on display in the water and on offer to discerning yachtsmen for charter this summer.
